Wedding // Nicole + Adrian // The Southport School

Her eyes started to well up…this isn’t how it was planned out to be… but in that instance she received a message on her phone. This is why, she is marrying him. Thoughtful and intuitive about how she was feeling… his words melted away her worries.

They had secretively planned a suprise wedding on the day of their engagement party. The ceremony was to be held over-looking the water on the grounds of The Southport School where Adrian works as a teacher. But Nicole was informed 2hrs before the wedding that there was 40 knot winds by the water and it was impossible to set up any chairs and in addition there was forecast of rain. Last minute changes had to be rapidly made for the ceremony and canape venues.

Adrian arrived at the “engagement party” to greet guests, and explained to them that Nicole was running late…. all the while the guests were unaware that Nicole was currently putting on her wedding dress and having her final moments as Nicole “Dixon”. When the time came, the MC announced that there was a surprise and ushered all the guests towards the venue where the wedding ceremony had been beautifully set up. The guests were grinning with excitement and couldn’t believe that Nicole and Adrian had secretly pulled off a surprise wedding.

Nicole got ready at the Marriott Hotel in Surfers Paradise. It was a hotel that she had spent many beautiful memories with her family, and it was only fitting that she chose to incorporate it as part of her special day. Nicole is the talented founder of Frankie and Nicole Sleepwear. And today, her and her bridesmaid were wearing their bridal range FOR REAL.
Once she saw a glimpse of herself in the mirror… the excitement set in… she looked stunning from head to toe: hair and makeup done just the way she wanted by her good friend Greta, the most dreamy wedding dress by Anna Campbell, and gorgeous Samantha Wills Bridal earrings. And to top it off, she was wearing the veil her mother wore at her own wedding.

The clock-tower chimed coincidentally just as they were pronounced husband and wife… as if to congratulate them. The skies had held off all throughout the ceremony and just as we were getting ready to take some portrait photos it started to rain. We really didn’t need perfect weather or an amazing backdrop… Nicole and Adrian just as they were in their moment, sharing a connection… that was all we needed for perfect photos.

Dearest Nicole and Adrian…thank you for choosing us to be part of such a magical day…brimming with memories and stories and surprises. Much love from Trang and Kostas.
