Wedding//Elizabeth + Kamyar // GOMA

He met her when he was visiting his friends in the UK. And when he returned home to Sydney, he couldn’t stop talking about her to all his friends. It was love.
Brisbane was her home. But when she returned from the UK, she followed her heart to Sydney. It was love.

Pitch black… that’s what the sky was just before I walked through the front door of the Le home. Liz was getting her hair styled when the first rays of morning sunshine filtered through. This was the beginning of what would be a very memorable day.
In honour of Liz’s heritage, a Vietnamese tea ceremony took place in her parent’s home in Brisbane and there was so much excitement when the Groom’s family arrived and were welcomed into the home. Coming from a Vietnamese background myself, I was deeply moved by not only how accepting the Groom’s family were of the Vietnamese wedding tradition, but  also how they absolutely embraced it. Throughout the day I could see numerous times where Kam’s father and Liz’s father would exchange hugs and expressed so much joy.

Liz and Kam opted for an intimate “first look” before walking down the isle, which I have documented in my previous post.

A beautiful Baha’i Ceremony was held at the Brisbane Convention centre that afternoon. Liz walked down an isle lined with candles and rose petals, towards a very happy and smiling Kam. And in front of their family and friends they promised their lives to each other.

The reception was held at the roof top of the Gallery of Modern Arts. The reception was such a reflection of the bride who organised it. Stunning… classy… thoughtful and personal.

Liz and Kam, we thank you for allowing us to play a small role in what was truly an amazing day (from start to finish). xxx
